Veronica McWilliams Associate

I am a qualified Occupational Therapist and have worked for 17 years, in health trusts in England and in Northern Ireland, where OT and health services are delivered as part of a broader health and social services package. This requires extensive communication with medical team, carers, workplace, social services sector, voluntary agencies as well as primary through to tertiary health care providers. As a lead OT I have developed and cultured links with peers and relevant professionals with a number of services and completed numerous audits and been responsible for the training and personal development of other members of my team. I have conducted specialised assessments, interventions and reviews using evidence based approaches and standardised tests to ascertain and then maximise the individuals’ independence in their functional, cognitive, motor, sensory, leisure and skill based activities.

My training as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist complements and informs my work as an OT and I know how potential evidence-based psychological approaches can enhance occupational therapy practice.

Oxford university - Belfast Cognitive Therapy Centre
    (2006 - 2008)
  • BSC (Hons) Occupational Therapy
